US Democracy Server: Patch Day

Version 44.01.
09

President

* Leadership: Will now scale properly to national crises. Intelligence was not being properly applied.

* A bug has been fixed that allowed the President to ignore the effects of debuffs applied by the Legislative classes.

* Drain Treasury: There appears to be a bug that allowed loot to be transferred from the treasury to anyone on the President's friends list, or in the President's party. We are investigating.

* Messages to and from the President will now be correctly saved to the chat log.

* Messages originating from the President were being misclassified as originating from The American People.

* A rendering error that frequently caused the President to appear wrapped in the American Flag texture has been addressed.

Vice President

* The Vice President has been correctly reclassified as a pet.

* No longer immune to damage from the Legislative and Judicial classes.

* The Vice President will no longer aggro on friendly targets. This bug was identified with Ranged Attacks and the Head Shot ability.

* Reveal Identity: this debuff will no longer be able to target Covert Operatives.

* Messages to and from the Vice President will now be correctly saved to the chat log.

* A rendering bug was affecting the Vice President's visibility, making him virtually invisible to the rest of the server. This has been addressed.

Cabinet

* There was a bug in the last release that prevented the Cabinet from disagreeing with the President, which was the cause of a number of serious balance issues. This bug has been addressed, and we will continue to monitor the situation.

Judiciary

* Many concerns have been raised regarding balance issues in the Supreme Court. This system is maintained on a different patch schedule, and will require longer to address.

* A large number of NPCs in the Judiciary were incorrectly flagged "ideological." We are trying to identify these cases and rectify this situation.

Homeland Security

* Homeland Security Advisory System: We have identified a bug in this system that prevents the threat level from dropping below Elevated (Yellow). The code for Guarded (Blue) and Low (Green) has been commented out. We are testing the fix and hope to have it in by the next patch.

* Torture: This debuff is being removed after a record number of complaints.

* Item: Large Bottle of Water is incorrectly generating threat with TSA Agents when held in inventory. We are looking into the issue.

* Asking questions about Homeland Security was incorrectly triggering the Chain-Jingoism debuff.

Economy

* Serious on-going issues with server economy are still being addressed. We expect further roll-backs, and appreciate your help identifying and fixing bugs. We can't make these fixes without your help.

PVP

* Reputation with various factions are being rebalanced. The gradated reputation scale was erroneously being overwritten by the binary For Us/ Against Us flag.

Quests

* The" Desert Storm" quest chain was displaying an erroneous "Mission Accomplished" message near the beginning of the chain.

* The quest chain that begins with "There's no Cake like Yellow Cake" and terminates with "W-M-Denied" has been identified as uncompletable, and has been removed.

Reagents

* Many recipes that currently call for Crude Oil can now be made with Wind, Solar, Geothermal and Ethanol reagents. We hope to roll out even more sweeping changes in the next patch.

Events

* The "Axis of Evil" event is drawing to a close. Look forward to the "Rebuilding Bridges" event starting in January.

And one year later all i have is this quizz

31 Dec 2007

took along time ago and was chaotic neutral. Haven't changed much as I was 2 points from chaotic neutral again.

I Am A: True Neutral Human Druid/Ranger (1st/1st Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-11

Dexterity-12

Constitution-12

Intelligence-12

Wisdom-9

Charisma-11

Alignment:
True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:
Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

Secondary Class:
Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

Actually writing something

12 Dec 2006

I got off Warcraft long enough to write in my neglected journal. Ha-actually realms are down for maintenace.

I tried applying for a job at an animal rescue service but was not accepted. I've had trouble getting a job here because i'm applying outside my field, and pretty much the only experiences I've had, even extra curricular, have been in Asian Studies. So i'm either over qualified or under qualified.
Now i'm looking for a job at a cellphone company. A friend told me they only do questionnaires and don't require a resume. Hopefully i'll get that. I've been enjoying my free time alot, but it does get really really boring too and its about time i made my own money so i can become independent.

In the meantime-warcraft. Of course i need to mention it here. As my first computer and online game experience i'm really impressed with it. Its amazing how huge the world is and watching all the different players interact is interesting. Though, i think i'm not paying attention to, or rather am not use to the community aspect. This is my carry over from being a console gamer all my life. You see i've been soloing pretty much all the game. I've only gone into groups when i absolutely could not do a quest by myself. This has kinda crippled my group work. I've noticed whenever i join a group it takes me awhile to get in the group flow and get good team work going.
I'm also such a greenie at instances/dungeons. I don't know how many times i accidentally aggro'ed an enemy. I keep forgetting they have a larger aggro range than world map ones. Not to mention its freaking confusing when there are 4 team members and 4 or more enemies on the screen with spells going off and i'm trying to see if my pointer is on the right enemy. Haaha, complete chaos-but its fun.

Haven't watched any anime, read fanfic, or worked on my fic in a long time. I cycle through phases were I'll watch anime, read fanfic, or game. Right now i'm in gaming mode.

Reason I haven't been on much

03 Dec 2006

World of Warcraft

That pretty much sums it all up.
Friend gave me one of her accounts to try out since she has multiple ones and that's when i found the joy of online MMORPG.
Came at just the right time-i've been bored with the internet lately.

Computers, games, and online quizz (why not)

28 Nov 2006

Haven't been up to much lately.
I cooked the whole Thanksgiving dinner without a hitch. It was easy since it was just me and my mom.

I'm also upgrading RAM just so I can play World of warcraft with one of my friends. She's gotten me interested in MMOs, hopefully i won't get too addicted. I'll try to remember to actually eat and take care of hygiene needs. hahaa
My little mini desktop Dell dimesion lasted me for 5 years with no problems but its about time for me to get a new computer anyway: 256 ram, 64md graphics card, 40gb hard drive, and 1,80 mhz processor. Windows XP and Norton are eating up most of the ram nowadays. I'll have to get a job and save up for one of the XPS systems. I'm looking at mid range XPS 410- Intel core 2 duo 1.80ghz processor, 1 gig or more ram, 256 mb graphics card, 250 hard drive. I'm not a hardcore computer gamer or video editor so its seems like a good deal for about 1,000.

Took a little quiz today that amused me. Its pretty acurate cause I know I have sexuality confusion.

You scored 33 Heterosexuality, 34 Homosexuality, and 37 Asexuality!

You're highly sexed but do not appear to be interested in either gender.

The higher your score in either the heterosexual or homosexual variable, the more interested you are in that gender.

Or there was a problem with the test, or you skipped all the questions. o_O

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Driving Woes

17 Nov 2006

I got my first ticket today and it wasn't even for what I thought I'd get my first ticket in, which was speeding.lol.

I met up with a friend at a restaurant. After eating we decided to go pick up another friend and go to the mall to get some games. I was following her out of Pei Wei to pick up the other person, and realized trailing people in cars is not good. She kept changing lanes-flashing her turn signal for like a second before she would change. Hahaa. Anyway, she turned into a gas station right INFRONT of these oncoming cars. I was like "the fuck I follow that", so not wanting to lose her I go up to the intersection and turn left and then almost shit myself when I see a cop car pull out and flash his fucking lights at me. Turns out I missed the "no left turns" sign. BOOO!!
She didn't even see me get pulled over. She called and left a message on the phone while the officer was checking my ID in his car saying "where are you". Lol, she hadn't even stopped for gas.

Anyway, after my freak out -on to the mall by myself. However, I was still so shaken from my first ticket I clearing wasn't paying enough attention to my driving. At first i decided to pull up into the parking garaged but then decided against it so as I'm going out down the ramp I make my turn too tight and fucking SCRATCHED the shit out of the side of the car on the white concrete barrier. Soon as i heard it I was like "SHIT!! NOT SOMETHING ELSE!"
I managed to park safely somehow and just looked at the damage. I tried glossing the white scraps off but the paint was gone-no hiding that. I just went and met my friends which helped calm me down some.
I played the Wii with them and got whipped at a racing game. I must reclaim my pride at video games-I blame that damn ticket>.>. This is when I saw the life sucking, yet wonderful Warcraft CD for 2 bucks and the swift lane changing friend gave me the info for one of her accounts. So Hurray! I get to play Warcraft for 2 measly dollars. Wheee!
Anyway, we didn't do too much. Swift lane changer had to leave for a basketball game and I was too anxious to just hangout more, so we all left. SOMEHOW, I got back home without getting in a crash or running someone off the road.

Looking back at this is really hilarious. It was also good and fun for me to go out and meet friends--just never ever trail in a car.

Little lost doggy

17 Nov 2006

walked my dog to a park thats only half a mile from my house regularly. I had to stop our long 3 mile walks because she has developed a slightly arthritic front leg. Anyway, today we meet this sweet male puppy there. He had a yellow coat with a white band around his mouth and paws; probably about 6 months old and a mix breed I think. He ran up to us and started jumping up and down wanting to play. I looked around for his owner thinking he'd been taken off leash in the park, but no one was with him.
I could tell his owners took god care of him as his coat looked good and his eyes were clear. He knew how to sit, and fetch and was very friendly-kept licking my face. I played with him awhile hoping his owner or someone that knew him would come, but no go. I decided to just walk home and, unsurprisingly, he followed just ahead of me and my dog. When I got back I gave him water and fed him.
Since I knew I couldn't keep him I really didn't know what to do with him. I took off his green collar to look for ID but there was none. I decided to go walk back around the area I found him in thinking that maybe someone out would recognize him. Better than him going back and possibly getting hit by a car.
I called my dog inside and went in the house to get a leash for the puppy, but when I went outside he had gone.
I walked to the street and a man told me that he had run in the direction of and area thats really shady. *the area I live in is like a cut off of "safe" and "unsafe" neighborhoods*. And I mean really shady. Like at night there a gun shots and usually loud drunks that can be heard blocks away.
I decided to brave it since, having taken his collar off, he would be mistaken as a stray. Unfortunately, I didn't see him.

I just hope he goes home to his good owners (and isn't hit), and is not picked-up by people that would abuse him by trying to make him a guard dog. In the area he ran into that would definitely happen.

Well, good luck little doggy.

Hmmm

22 Oct 2006

haven't written anything here in awhile. I'm getting back to working on my Fic since its been awhile.

The boiler in my house broke and is too expensive to get repaired anytime soon- near 2,000.00 estimate :(. So i'll be going without a good source of heat this winter. I'm gonna get those little potable heaters for a few rooms, but they can't be used for long periods of time I don't think. Well, no worries. I'll imagine i'm back in Japan with my little kerosene heater and still freezing my butt off!lol

I went to the last farmers market here. There veggi selection was sparse, as i had expected. I'm gonna miss their fresh veggies and great prices, and also, my gluten free bread seller lady- Bye bye till next year. Time to shop back at over priced supermarkets.

I love fall

06 Oct 2006

I felt better today than I have all week.My sinuses are finally starting to get better.
The weather was gorgeous today; High of 70, a few puffy clouds in the sky, and a nice cool breeze. It's a great break from the odd heatwave that caused the highs to be in the nineties all week.

Naturally I took my dog to the park on a day like this. There's a nice big lake she loves to swim in-she also enjoys chasing the turtles and ducks :).

I finally felt like cooking again to. Once we got back home I whipped up a lunch of parmesan tilapia with fried eggplant and field peas. Yummy!
I ate cereal for dinner however :D. Ah, well.

I haven't worked on my fic at all this week. I hope I can get back started this weekend.

feeling down

05 oct 2006

Hmm, for some reason netscape 8 keeps crashing only when I try to post. Strange. Good thing I kept Net 7. Though I think netscape's browsers are starting to really be bug prone. The recent versions crash to much. Maybe its time for me to get modzilla. Anywho..

My sinuses have been acting up this whole week. I've had bad headaches and that annoying stuffy feeling, plus i'm abit weak. I've gone and gotten depressed on top of all that to make things worse.

I'm sick enough to have gottten behind in my fanfic reading and anime watching. I don't even feel like cooking.

Well going to lay down.

Plus Account forget it

02 oct 2006

I just switched back to a basic account. When I started this new journal as a Plus account I didn't mind seeing a few ads just so I could have 8 extra user pics (the only reason i got plus) and support LJ a bit. However, I'm not going to support ANY kind of advertising since I found out about scienceofsleep and the total BS going on at lj_biz.

Screw that. In the future I don't want to see fake corporate accounts spamming their products everywhere. I don't want to see sponsored communities disrupting fan made communities because they don't agree with the "type of advertising" the fan community does. Big Business in a free speech, fanbase community is like putting sharks in with dolphins. Somethings going to suffer and it won't be the sharks.

In other news. I went to a Citizen Cope concert this weekend with a friend. It was her idea since I had no idea who he was. She played me a Cd of his and I really liked his Music so I was looking foreword to going. We got there at 6 since it was suppose to start at 7, but by 8 he hadn't come out. I jokingly said maybe he was getting stoned in the back of his tour bus.

At 10, two hours late with no apology, he came out on staged stoned. Go figure.

I only listen to three of his songs and left. I show no support for artists who are that un-thoughtful to their fans and darn lame enough to knowingly get stoned before their concert.

On the good side I got to see two friends and actually get out and do something, even if it wasn't really my thing.

Well, back to writing my story.

Same tired shounen formula, but atleast the characters are interesting

29 sept 2006

Prince of Tennis. I almost gave up on you, I really did. Took me 30 eps to get somewhat interested in your show. The plot is lackluster, a bit flat, and so typical DBZ shounen it hurts, and I still can't stand the main character Echizen. There is no dramatic tension after each show that makes me go "I need to watch the next episode now!". The catch phrases aren't that catchy and the tennis matches aren't that exciting, not to mention the explanations of what and how each character makes his specialty shot seems to just draaaaag.

Why am I still watching this show? I realized it was for the characters and their interactions. Thats the only thing that keeps me somewhat interested right now. I like the rest of the Seigauku team sans Ryouma. They all have their distinct personalities and quirks. The coach is one cool lady and her daughter Sakuno is cute. I also like the other rival tennis' teams players. The people I can't stand have finally taken less of a foreground role; the whole echizen family, Sakuno's friend, and Ryouma's friends.

Hopefully I'll get more interested. This fandom is huge afterall, so something has to happen in the future that just makes the anime awesome... i hope. If not on to Death Note!

Anime aside, I'm still writing strong. Right now its all really raw. I have it reading more like a script that a fic. I'm getting down all the dialog and settings before I go back and edit and re-edit everything. It's like I'm laying down the bare structure before I layer on the details. So far its been really neat writing my breath of Fire III story out for myself.

I actually start typing stuff

23 sept 2006

Well, last night I FINALLY started typing out my BoF daydream story. I've never written fanfiction before so i was surprised how enjoyable it can be. I really get to re-imagine my characters more vividly since writing it out as opposed to just thinking it in my head has to be more precise and clearly stated.

I've only got two very rough pages so far, but I wrote them in only an hour and a half. My speed is due to the fact that I know exactly how the stroy is going to go and already know the majority of the dialoge and settings that will appear in it. Ha, that happens after making a story in your head for over five years.

Now that i'm actually doing this this means I'll never forget my recent stories, like I did my very first one. Yeah for motivation.

I also finally finished reading all the stories of the blind_go challenge. I'm so happy Hikago has such talented writers. Even though some fics really stood out I enjoyed reading all the fics posted. I didn't feel confident enough to guess even though I had a vague feeling of who wrote what for some fics.
Ah, maybe next time.
I can't wait for the next challenge to start. Though I got the feeling some of the writers want a loong break before the next challeng, haahaa.

Must never be to fast to Judge

22 Sept 2006

I'm going to take back some of what I said about Sailor Moon Live Action. I had watched 15 episodes when I placed my thoughts on it, but now that I've obsessively watched the entire series I am going to change my opinion. I'm going to still give the production value of the show a C/C , but the story, characters, and actors are getting an A rating.
First the actor for Sailor Moon was Sailor Moon to the T and better than. I like her characterization because she is not the always wimpy, whiny Sailor Moon of the anime, She kicks some butt in the show. Also, I love how they completely changed the Princess. The other actors (including the Dark Kingdom ones) are excellent in their roles *I especially loved Kuncite and Motoki*. Also, Thank Goodness for the change of Darien/Mamoru's personality. I didn't really enjoy him in the anime or manga versions.

(There are a few tinny spoilers here)
The story is what makes this show completely stand on its own. I think around ep20 is when it deviates from the Manga complete and becomes its own litttle gem. There is a good balance of humor, darkness, camp, and tear jearking angst to keep one glue to the monitor. Not to mention the little twist at the end concerning Berl and the Princess is a great breakaway from the typical darkside vs goodside of the first season.

This is definitely on my to rewatch list of shows. The Only bad thing I have to saw now is about the 1hr Special, which tried to be to campy and lost the sense of drama the Tv series had.

On A similar note I have started watching Prince of Tennis. ToP is very popular, but so far it hasn't really drawn me into it. But I am at the very begging so I'm not going to toss it yet. Could turn out to be a real gem like the above. I guess the big minus against it is that I really don't like Echizen character so far. Its like if Akari, whose personality is annoying to me for some reason, was the lead character of Hikaru no Go. Well, atleast Echizen isn't a Relena Peacecracft or Mamoru/Darien to me yet. Ha!

Live Action what?

(original 14 Sept 2006)

Live Action Sailor Moon. Yep.

I saw a few of these about three years back when I was in Japan. My initial thoughts were that this show was completely cheesy and just another money grab for the Sm franchise, but now that I've watched it translated I've changed my opinion. The Show is based more around the manga premise than anime and it seems to be trying to be original by changing a few things around like personalities, how they all meet, and the story to an extent. It's still cheesy as hell-but this IS Sailor Moon so I can't complain too much. The twist to the story and the fact that its live action, no matter how cheesy, keeps it interesting. Whoever choreograhped this show needs to be shot, but I still give it a C .

I've also been watching Ouran Host club. All I can say is Funnay! This show is crack with a side of acid. oh THOSE TWINS *sigh*

Ah, anyway Eventually once I relearn enough html I'll try adding theme graphics or whatnot, and I need to get to work on my stories/daydream ideas. Thsts why I made this journal after all.

Daydreamed stories always in my head

( original entry 08-Sept-2006 on Livejournal)

Ok, here's a spark of motivation. This is due to stories that I have in my head now but will probably forget in the future. I'm i terrible writer so they won't be in story form just random notes and summary form (also because already i have forgotten many details). I'm not original either. I call my imagination "japan imagination" because I take ideas from other things, put them together and make a strange creation all my own.

My very first was a massive DBZ infused with Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo (the first three animes I ever saw) daydream that I wiped up.LOL I remember i was just in 7th or 8th grade when I made it up. What memories and craziness.

Lets see. Theres one that dealt with Zelda, Two for breath of Fire III with Teepo, One for Ranma, One for Gundam Wing (quatrextrowa), Inuyasha, Fuushigi Yuugi, Naruto, and currently daydreaming/thinking up one for Hikaru no go (AkiraxHikaru).

I think thats all of them

Anyway I'm going to use this journal to write down ALL the story Idea's I can remember if my laziness doesn't get in the way too much.

New journal

Making a home here away from livejournal. I like he freedom of expression on the net, something live journals become a bit conservative with.
